My Six Day Slim Down Journey - What is it?
Some of the Beachbody workout programs come with this basic week-long slim down program. They may each be named slightly different, but they are all basically a six-day eating plan meant to help you lose pounds and inches and rev up your metabolism. “The plan consists of 6 disciplined days of “clean” eating. The diet is high protein/low carb and is aimed at getting your metabolism revved up as you start a new workout program.” (From the Hip Hop Abs 6-day Slim Down booklet.)
I had never taken the time to do this before. I decided that now as a good time to give it a try, since I’m in between programs and only doing cardio. I want to try to knock off a few more pounds and inches that would have come off in my first round of ChaLEAN Extreme if I had been more disciplined in December when I started that program. So this is my chance to “catch up” in a manner of speaking.
As stated above, the meals are high in protein and low in carbs. The protein, however, is lean. Looking over the meals, they don’t look too different from what I’m used to eating, except there are no breads or rice of any kind. That will be different for me, but it’s only for a week, right? I will add that I will allow myself one cheat every day, and that is one of my home-made Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies. I’m hoping that after eating so clean all day, and exercising too, that this one little cheat won’t through the whole plan off.
I’m going to blog my experience every day, so come along with me and we’ll see how it goes!
